WERNER HERZOG TO STAR IN ‘GRITTY’ GREEN HORNET REBOOT
HOLLYWOOD – Columbia Pictures announced respected director Werner Herzog will take the lead role of Britt Reid in their upcoming reboot of the Green Hornet franchise.
Herzog said in a statement that he is “looking forward to delving into the dark abyss of Britt Reid’s soul that makes him resort to this vigilantism,” and that “Seth Rogen can kiss my Bavarian ass.” Herzog has also stated that he will not direct the feature, instead focusing on improving on his “acting craft” following his performance in last year’s Jack Reacher and avoiding “that fucker Kinski.”
Kevin James is rumoured to be joining the cast as some light comic relief as Reid’s sidekick Kato, as the studio believe that he can ‘do all the falling over stuff, don’t worry about it.’ When asked about the reboot, funny man Rogen just laughed and continued to browse the cereal aisle of Walmart. Speculation is growing as to who will direct the film, the front-runners being Herzog’s friend Harmony Korine and James Franco, who may fit it in as he has two days spare off his latest project, which is the James Franco biopic starring Dave Franco as James Franco and James as Dave.
Green Hornet: Mask of God is expected to be released on Christmas 2014.
