THE HUNTER: REVIEW

Jesus Christ goes to Tasmania to hunt a CGI tiger that was thought to be extinct with the help of the cuckold from The Piano and some robot children being looked after by the mom from A.I.
Ecological angst versus a man pitched against nature thriller gives us something akin to a stripped down version of The Grey. A great performance from the often wasted Defoe, some snazzy wilderness and the touching on deeper themes, there’s the threat that the film will either become just a thriller (cliches include a barroom confrontation) or get overly bogged down in eco-muck. Glad to say it just about pulls it off
