JOHN TRAVOLTA CONFIRMS FACE/OFF 2

HOLLYWOOD – John Travolta confirmed this morning that the long-awaited sequel to Face/Off is officially in the works.

“We’ve been working hard on the idea for several years,” said a dapper Travolta.

We really tried to think of a way for Nic (Cage) to return but it was problematic. Nic said he would only reprise the role if his character could wear a cape and he walked around with a Golden Eagle on his arm but we couldn’t make it work. It’s all good, though. I think Bryan Cranston is going to be sensational.

According to Travolta, Cranston will play the estranged father of Castor Troy who returns to avenge the death of his son.

He captures me, swaps his face with mine and goes on a crime spree. It’s pretty similar to the original movie in many respects, the only difference is this one is predominately set on Mars.

John Woo is back on directing duties and he told The Studio Exec that he’s already well into pre-production:

I was reluctant to return for a sequel but then they told me I can use as many Doves as I want so the plan is to have a Dove in every scene. Personally, I don’t think there is a movie in cinematic history that can’t be improved by the addition of Doves – except maybe Overboard.

Woo also confirmed more slow-motion sequences in Face/Off 2:

The entire first scene will be filmed in slow-motion and that’s mainly just John’s character having breakfast with his wife and adopted child and then going off to the bathroom to take a shit. I want to see the strain and grimace on his face as he evacuates his bowels to the sound of Mozart’s ‘The Marriage of Figaro’ whilst fending off a flock Doves.

Face/Off 2 is due in 2017
