SANTA CLAUS’ 2013 FILM REVIEW

SANTA CLAUS’ 2013 FILM REVIEW
Father Christmas Film

In an exclusive interview The Studio Exec sat down with Mr. Christmas himself, Santa Claus, to discuss the best and worst movies of 2013:

Mr. Claus. May I call you Santa?

No you may not.

Okay. Mr. Claus.

Ha. I was kidding of course you can call me Santa.

I see. You’re quite the joker.

Comedy has always been a passion of mine and I’m always working on new material.  You know you can’t just keep recycling the same cracker jokes.

Who are your comedy heroes, your biggest influences?

Well of course I love Richard Pryor, Bill Hicks, George Carlin etc… but I’m also a student of some of the more obscure comedians. Pol Pot for example.

You’re referring to Pol Pot the former leader of the Khmer Rouge ?

 Yes.

Pol Pot, the mass murderer?

Sure. I mean I’m not for a moment suggesting he was a good boy and he certainly got no presents from me for most of his life but what can I say, he was a funny guy.

Can you remember any of the jokes he told you?

Oh sure.  Let me see. Oh this is one of my favourites. Why did Adolf Hitler commit suicide?

Er. I don’t know.

He got his gas bill. Ha-Ha-Ha.

Mmm.  Actually being of Jewish descent I found that incredibly offensive.

Okay, okay I admit that was a bit near the knuckle. How about this one, Why did Hitler cross the road?

With much trepidation, I don’t know.

To get to the genocide. Ha-Ha-Ha. Oh come on, that was a good one.

No it wasn’t it was extremely distasteful.  So basically what you are saying is that Pol Pot told jokes about Hitler and the extermination of the Jews and you think it’s funny.

Woah hold on there. I think it’s unfair to condemn a man just because he told a couple of jokes that were in poor taste. His comedy was much broader I just picked two at random.

Fine, tell me a joke Pol Pot told you that doesn’t involve Nazis or genocide.

Oh that’s easy. Though it has been a while so you’ll have to give me a second. Mmm. Well there’s the one about the…ah, that does mention Nazis.  Er…Okay you got me.  He only told jokes about Nazis and genocide.

Which you found funny?

Hey look I laugh at everything. I’m jolly old Santa for Christ sake. I laugh at paint drying. It’s like I’m cursed or something.

I’m sorry but I don’t think I can continue this interview.  You’ve proved yourself to be a wicked man with a twisted sense of humour and I’m appalled.

But aren’t you going to ask me what my favourite film is?

That ship has sailed.

Oh come on. I came to earth a day early to give this interview.

Fine, what was your favourite film of the year and be brief.

Okay. My favourite film of 2013 was The Act of Killing. Hands down one of the funniest movies I’ve seen in years.
