HOLLYWOOD – Andrew Jacobs – the star of the new entry in the Paranormal Activity franchise Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones – revealed today that the new film will be the first comedy entry in the ‘horror’ series.

Speaking exclusively to the Studio Exec, the young actor said:

The producers really wanted to do something different. I mean the things go bump in the night gets old quite fast. You could say, even halfway through the first film, it needed a walking stick. Ha ha!

What changes are we likely to see?

Well, first of all it’s going to be a comedy.

Wow, a comedy horror. That’s erm…

No, not a comedy horror, just a comedy.

Christopher Landon -the writer and director of the film – confirmed this surprising development:

Oh yeah. Andrew wasn’t supposed to tell you because it was like going to be this big surprise. But now it’s out. Yeah. It is a comedy.

How’s that going to work?

Easy. You know how we always use video cameras and basically found footage. Well, it reminded me of that TV show I used to watch when I was a kid: America’s Funniest Home Videos. What if instead of their being demonic forces possessing or seeking to possess Jess, the kid Andrew plays, what if it were just 90 minutes of him and his family falling off stools, walking into glass doors and having accidents on his dirt bike

I know! Right.  And least this ways, if they mix it up with some kids’ film no one can complain. Yeah.

Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones will be released in January 2014.
