Hot today. Nice for the time of year. Went out to the garden and walked around for a bit. Maybe I should take up gardening. I’d like to but I wouldn’t know where to start. There should be books to help people like me who want to do some gardening but don’t know how. Gardening books.

Went to the bookshop. Turns out there are loads of books about gardening. A whole section in fact! And I had a cup of coffee and a Danish in the book shop!! I know coffee and pastry in a bookshop!? Whatever will they come up with next?

So the gardening isn’t going great. Terry Malick came round to give me some pointers. He said you can only go out the hour after the sun sets and the hour before the sun comes up. He didn’t explain why. Whenever I asked him a question he just looked at the birds wistfully and turned the volume up on his iPod. He was listening to Dookie by Green Day. I’m not sure if he was being intentionally rude, but it did kind of hurt my feelings.
