HOLLYWOOD – Always trying to stay one step ahead of the competition, Netflix have commissioned a new series that will be streamed exclusively on an Apple Watch.
“We believe the Apple Watch is the future and we wanted to be part of it.” said Netflix founder Reed Hastings.
We’ve filmed the entire show in miniature with miniature sets and miniature people. It’s been a long process but the watch is only small, so everything in the show has to be small otherwise it wouldn’t fit on the screen.
Asked what the series was about, Hasting’s was reluctant to give away too much information:
It’s a cross between Lawrence of Arabia and Dirty Dancing with a touch of Koyaanisqatsi here and there. To be honest, the picture is so small that’s it’s almost impossible to work out what is going on but rest assured that every penny of the $250 million we spent on the show is right there on the screen.
Asked if he planned to make more content for the Apple Watch, Hasting’s nodded:
We’ve got some very talented people currently working an adaptation of 2001: A Space Odyssey. We’re just going to recreate it shot-for shot but everything will be a lot smaller. Oh, and Adam Sandler will be in it.
The as yet untitled Netflix Apple Watch show is due for release later this year.
