NEW YORK – Michael Bay’s agent has confirmed that the director of the Transformers trilogy went stir crazy during a preview of Zack Synder’s Man of Steel at an unnamed Manhattan screening room.

An eyewitness to the tragedy filled The Studio Exec in on the events that led up to Bay’s slip into lunacy:

I was sat right behind Mr Bay and he seemed fine at the beginning but as the movie went on, I could see he was sweating profusely and becoming increasingly agitated. Somewhere around around the hour mark I noticed he was rocking backwards and forwards gripping his seat mumbling “It’s too much. It’s too fast”, quietly at first but as his rocking increased in violence and intensity so did his volume until he was repeatedly shouting “IT’S TOO MUCH. IT’S TOO FAST!” Next thing I know he rips his seat from the floor, hurls it across the room and scrambles over the audience heading towards the front. Then he ripped off all his clothes, attacked the screen and started clawing and screeching like some kind of wild animal. It was scary stuff and then when he started masturbating and crying I just felt sorry for him. I don’t know if he was on crack or he’s been under a lot of pressure lately but the man is in need of urgent mental help.

Bay’s agent Chuck Flake tried to play down the incident and claimed that his client had simply had an allergic reaction to shellfish.

Michael accidentally ate an entire Lobster before the screening and it caused him to lose temporary control of his faculties. He is recuperating at home and I’m sure you’ll join me in wishing him a speedy recovery.
