JODIE FOSTER TO PLAY HANNIBAL LECTER
HOLLYWOOD – Gender reversal fever has officially hit Hollywood and hot on the heels of the news that Channing Tatum is taking on the role of a merman in a remake of Splash, Warner Brothers have announced that Jodie Foster will take on the coveted role of Dr. Hannibal Lecter in the long-awaited remake of The Silence of the Lambs.
“When they first approached me, I didn’t think I could do it,” said Foster:
But then I called up Tony Hopkins for some advice and he invited me over for dinner. I love Tony but, I must have been to dinner at his house about fifty times in the last thirty years and he always serves liver, fava beans and chianti. The first time he did it I thought it was an amusing joke but one day I sneaked a look in his refrigerator there was nothing else in there but liver and fava beans. I mean that’s pretty weird, right? They guy didn’t even have a block of f*cking cheese.
Joining Foster on her trip to the dark side with be Tom Hiddleston as Clarence Starling, Helen Mirren as Jackie Walker and Tilda Swinton as Buffalo Belinda.
“It’s basically a shot-for-shot remake,” said Swinton:
Except for the scene in the original when Buffalo Bill tucks his penis between his legs and pretends he has a vagina. I already have a vagina, so, there was no need.
The Silence of the Lambs remake is due in 2019
