HBO CONFIRMS GAME OF THRONES SPIN-OFF
HOLLYWOOD – After months of speculation HBO have finally confirmed that they are working on a spin-off to Game of Thrones.
“We are still in the early stages”, said a HBO spokesman:
George R.R. Martin has given us his blessing but we know that fans of the books will be worried about us messing with the storyline. It’s taken a lot of work and a lot of negotiation but we think we’ve finally nailed it.
He went on to say that the show will focus on a group of previously unseen characters that live in Kings Landing and regularly meet at a local coffee house:
It will definitely be lighter in tone than Game of Thrones. One character, Sir Joei, is an oafish actor with a range of amusing catchphrases and another, Madame Feebee, is a musician who sings terrible songs about cats. We think it’s a fresh and original take on the romantic comedy genre.
Asked if any characters from Game of Thrones will make an appearance, the spokesman said he couldn’t reveal any details but he did provide a tantalising clue:
I can’t say who it is, but I can tell you her first line will be ‘OH…MY…MANY-FACED GOD!’
Fiends is due for release in 2017.
