NEW YORK – Harvey Weinstein – co-founder of Miramax and current head of The Weinstein Company – has furiously denied that he has any involvement with the Studio Exec, either the internet’s most popular film comedy site or the Twitter profile @StudioExec1 which currently spreads happiness to over 16,900 followers.
The Oscar winning producer and number one Tarantino fan turned up at a Gala opening wearing a t-shirt saying ‘I am not Studio Exec’ and proceeded to rant at reporters:
I’ve never even heard of Twatter or whatever it is you call it. You think I have time to sit around all day sending out glib little comedy nuts of 140 characters or spraying the internet with half-assed satirical mumbo-jumbo and made up news stories? I don’t think so, assholes. I’m too busy screaming at interns, re-editing Guillermo Del Toro’s first two films and practising my beetroot impersonations.
Speculation has been rife since many moguls have faced the wrath of satire lashing on Studio Exec, but as yet Harvey Weinstein’s name has never appeared. Some have even claimed that last night’s publicity stunt was only an attempt to deflect attention away from
me Harvey Weinstein, whilst others say that the bored film executive was actually attempting to confess using reverse psychology.
