Ridley Scott had already earned himself a reputation as a futurist with the visionary Blade Runner, but with his 1991 feminist road movie Scott and screenwriter Callie Khouri did it again with perhaps his most ambitious prediction, a prediction that was to become fact within the next decade, spreading like a horrific disease and blooming into the tragic narcissism which currently plagues our culture.
